Connecticut Takes New England Cup Championship by Storm
On a beautiful almost-summer day, teams from all seven New England EWGA chapters competed in the inaugural New England Cup - a tournament that allowed participants to Connect... Learn... Play... Belong as one tight-knit New England group.
Seventy-two women played nine holes of individual match play and nine holes of four-ball match play in a quest for the Cup. The team with the greatest number of points - Fairfield CT chapter - was crowned the over-all Champion and will have their chapter's name inscribed on the traveling Claret Jug. The second place team - Central CT - was also recognized.
Our own Boston B team just missed second by a point. Way to go gals! Strategizing has already begun to capture the Cup in 2011!
The planning team got rave reviews for their execution of the New England Cup Championship. Everything went off without a hitch and a great time was had by all. Thanks to Jackie Corcoran and Ginny Evans for their efforts in coordinating the event!
